Communication problems land 17-year-old student in hospital

A 17-year-old male was assaulted by a group of minors at around 4:00 a.m. on Feb. 19 in the parking lot of a pachinko parlor in Yafuso, Urasoe City. The seriously injured victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. Urasoe City police arrested six 16 to 17-year-olds, including one female, later that day. The juveniles, including the victim, are reportedly part a group of youngsters who communicate with each other by means of beepers. Apparently the victimís way of communicating caused the attackers to lose their tempers and assault him.
