Why Crow Over Victory

Date Posted: 2000-08-11

In the letter Why Americans Honor their War Heroes Guillermo and Danielle Guillen say that Japanís war heroes were shunned and outcast after the Second World War. Was this not exactly what happened to Americaís returned Vietnam Vets? It seems countries honor their combatants only if they win a war. If they lose it, thatís another story.

I think you missed the point of Big Beerís letter. He was saying why crow over a victory on the loserís soil. America does not have foreign bases on its land. If it ever did it would be just as offended as Big Beer was by the victorsí propaganda.
