Village Office Move Will Ease Red Tape

Date Posted: 2001-03-23

Tomigusuku Village, which attains the status of Tomigusuku City in April next year, is preparing for the change in status by upgrading its local government premises.

By the end of this year the 40 year old Tomigusuku Village Office will move to a new building on Route 331 in Onaga district, currently occupied by the Yonashiro Furniture Shop.

A pressing reason for the move is that the present Tomigusuku building is not big enough to accommodate some of its offices, such as the education department, under the same roof.

The mayor of Tomigusuku village, Toyoaki Kin, explained “by putting all the departments in one building, our administrative work will be more efficient. It will also be better for the residents who come to our office. They will be able to finish all their paperwork in one place instead of going to separate offices.”
