Young Whale Caught Off Yomitan, FreedDate Posted: 2001-03-23 The following Monday 20 workers from the Yomitan Village Fishing Association and the Ocean Expo Park aquarium went to help free the whale. Divers untied the net and a fishing boat led the whale through its opening. Freeing the whale took only 40 minutes and afterwards the whale swam off towards the Kerama islands. The 10 meter whale was estimated to be four or five years old. |
