Security Rehearsal for the Summit

On July 9, a rehearsal for the transportation of the leaders of G8 countries took place in the rain. More than 950 selected policemen from all over Japan participated. White motorcycles, and police cars surrounding the first imaginary G8 leaderís car (supposed to be from the U.S.) left Naha International Airport at 5:20am. At intervals of eight minutes, each imaginary G8 leaderís car surrounded by police cars and motorcycles left the airport. They used the Okinawa Expressway and stopped at hotels. At 8:20am, they arrived at Bankoku Shinryokan Hall.

The purpose of this exercise is confirmation of security, traffic regulations, and disposition of units. They are going to have another rehearsal before the summit.
