Okinawan Dancers come to Colorado

Date Posted: 2000-07-07

On June 24 a group of Okinawan dancers came to Denver Colorado and danced for the people of Colorado. I know this does not sound like a big thing. Until you have looked in the eyes of an Okinawan woman who has been in Colorado for 30 years and see thetears of joy. The dancers have touched the hearts of the Okinawan people that live in

Colorado and the people of Colorado. This group paid their own way to come here and dance for us. Yukari Shimabukuro And Naoko Ahagon donated the Eisa drums the group brought from Okinawa to the Okinawan People's Association of Colorado.

These 24 Okinawan people with hearts of gold need to be thanked in some way. Thank You!
