Dancers Rehearse For Clinton Visit

Members of Okinawa City Kodomo-kai, Ryukyu Koku Matsuri Taiko, Okinawa City Children’s Croup and other civil groups, a total of 350 people held their first joint Eisa training session yesterday. The group is scheduled to perform Okinawan Eisa Dance at the welcome ceremony planned for U.S. President Bill Clinton when he visits Okinawa City during the G-8 Summit.

The dance will be accompanied by a new song by Katsu Hide, a well known singer and writer of Okinawan folk songs. The new song is titled “Winds of the Ocean.”
