2001 Okinawa Marathon on Sunday

The 2001 Okinawa Marathon starts next Sunday February 18 at 9 am at the Main Stadium in Okinawa Comprehensive Park. The finishing line will be in the same place six hours later. The course goes through Central Okinawa and is 26 miles (42 km) long.

Half an hour after the start of the full marathon there will be a quarter marathon of 6.25 miles (10 km) which finishes at 11 am.

Prizes for the full marathon will be given to the top six male finishers, the top six females, the oldest person who completes the race and the top foreign national. In the quarter marathon awards will go to the top three male and top three female runners. All runners who finish the course will also get a medal and a completion certificate.

The marathon will have distance indicators every five km, at the halfway point and at every kilometer for the last five km of the race. The 50 fastest runners will be recorded every five km and at the halfway point. For further information phone (098)-930-0088.
