Special Summit Stamps Issued

The Posts and Telecommunications Ministry has issued a set of three special memorial postal stamps for the G-8 Summit. The stamps feature Deigo, the Okinawan Prefectural flower, Obago, a kind of grass indigenous to Okinawa and Busena Conference Hall. Other motifs in the stamps depict flora and landscape of Fukuoka that is hosting a summit of G-8 foreign ministers at the same time as the heads of state convene in Okinawa. A total 30 million stamps has been printed of which 263,000 will be sold in Okinawa. Only one run of the stamps is printed.
