Okinawa's Live World War 2 Bombs

According to Okinawa General Bureau 41.5 tons of unexploded ordnance from the second World War was removed from within the prefecture last year. Most of those discovered were found at construction sites.

The removal of the ordnance cost the prefecture 13 million. Prefecture officials and personnel from the Japan Self Defense Forces are planning to beef up methodical search for the unexploded bombs at various locations within the prefecture this year, covering 127,000 hectares of land.
