Crackdown on Rude Civil Servants

Okinawa Prefecture officials are warning rude civil servants at public offices to change their ways. The prefecture has created a new office to receive complaints on the matter from the public and then giving guidance to civil servants where necessary.

The aim of the so called “Fresh Service Office” organized a meeting yesterday to which they invited representatives from 36 prefecture, city and village offices. According to Ryusei Tomoyose, the Fresh Service Office Head, the most frequent complaints from the public are dirty toilets, followed by a lack of reserved parking for the handicapped, not enough maps informing the public of office locations and slow service.
