Yasuda wins second term in Yomitan mayoral election

Incumbent Keizo Yasuda was re-elected for another term in Yomitan Village’s mayoral election on Feb. 10. The 68-year-old Yasuda won with 11,099 votes, handily defeating opponent Hideo Chinen by a wide margin of over 9,800 votes. During his second term in office Mayor Yasuda plans to make good use of Yomitan Airport, due to be returned to the village in 2005.
