The return of the Sobe Communications site, commonly known as the Elephant Cage, will be delayed, according to Isao Kitahara, the director of Naha Defense Facilities Administration Bureau. Kitahara said yesterday that the reason is a delay in deciding the new location of the facility within Camp Hansen. Kitahara said that it is not clear how long the move will be deferred. The move of the facility was agreed within the SACO accords. Kin Town, the host of Camp Hansen has agreed to the building of the new facility.
