Indy Band Casba to Play in Okinawa Live!Date Posted: 2000-04-21 A brief history of Casbah: When they formed the band in 1983 their debut live performance was called Explosion. In June 1985 they released a record with 2 songs on the Explosion Label. They also featured on two albums, “Heavy Metal Force 3” from Explosion, and “Devil Must be Driven out with Devil”.from Hold Up Records. In 1986, “Russian Roulette c/w Death Metal” from Music Visions” was released, and 7000 copies were sold in a year. In 1987, They released “Infinite Pain”. After that they had a break for a year and a half. In 1992, they performed at the famous CBGB club in New York, but they had a trouble with a line-up change. In 1994, they helped record “Extreme Hot Candy” by Toysfactory. In 1996, they had a contract with Roadrunner/Japan, an important new step for the band. The following year saw the release of their first major album, “Bold Statement”. The year after that they released “Dinosaurs” which includes some songs from the past. Hatori, Casbah’s vocalist, was a temporary vocalist for Outrage Live last year. He liked the local audience, and decided to stage a live concert in Okinawa. Hatori says, “The audience in Okinawa is pure. It was fun to talk with a half American kid, too. I sang a song about Okinawa on the first album. When I sang the song, I learned a lot about Okinawa.
