G8 Education Ministers' Forum in Okinawa started

There has been a G8 Education Ministersf Forum in Ueno, Tokyo on April 1st and 2nd. They discussed topics such as a plan to increase international exchange programs among G8 countries. The Digital Divide was another theme (the increasing number of people who cannot keep up with the rapid technological change from an industrial society to an information based one caused by technology. A continuation of this meeting has started in Ginowan city on March 3rd. The theme of the meeting in Ginowan city is Harmony among the Human Race and Education Toward the Era of Information. The minister of Education, Hirobumi Nakasone, Secretary of Education of U.S., Reily and other guests from G8 countries attended the forum. Hirobumi Nakasone said, The amount of violence in schools is increasing in Japan. The environment surrounding children has dramatically changed. Educating hearts and minds is needed now. Japan has been putting too much emphasis on cramming.. Now, we want to put more emphasis on teaching individualism.@We would like to teach ethics and morals through experience.
