A ceremony marking the opening of Ginowan Bypass was held on Moday. Ginowan Bypass was constructed to reduce traffic jam on Route 58. The length of the bypass is 4.5 kilometers. It has two lanes for each direction. It runs between Isa in Ginowan city and Makiminato in Usasoe city. The construction started in 1985 with the aim of preventing heavy traffic jam at Isa Cross and Ojana Cross. The construction has been completed early enough for the Summit. In the future, the highway will be extended to 50 kilometers in length, connecting Yomitan village and Itoman city.
