American Home to Open Call Center in Okinawa

A famous insurance company American Home will open a new call center in Okinawa in July, the company announced Tuesday. The insurance company plans to hire 100 telephone operators in March and eventually increase their number to 300.

According to Takami Yokoyama, the president of American Home Japan Branch, the cost was a big factor in deciding the new call center’s location. “We have one call center in Tokyo, but our business is spreading so quick that we need a second one. We found that the cost of living and office space is much lower in Okinawa, so the decision was easy. An additional bonus is that there are no strong earthquakes or other natural disasters in Okinawa,” Yokoyama stated.
