Airport Service Business Planned for North

In waiting for the joint civilian and military use of the proposed heliport in Henoko, members of the Okinawa Prefecture Assembly were briefed during its February business meeting of a plan to establish a company in the area offering maintenance services for aircraft.

Okinawa Vice Governor Hirotaka Makino said during his briefing that “this kind of business requires a very high level of know-how and manpower. The prefecture has set up a budget to conduct a feasibility study, and we are seeking private sector partners.” He also stated that the prefecture was ready to invest public money in such a company.
