Artsy Wall Can Make Any Room Shine

Are you tired of your naked walls or need a change in your home or office? Artsy Wall Art & Frame Shop will help you find the perfect frame or print to jazz up your place.

Noriko Awakuni and Kengo Kudeken, owners of Artsy Wall, are up to any decorating challenge. Art is their passion and they want to help others spice up their drab walls. A couple of ways to improve your décor are to replace a frame that is outdated by cleaning it and changing the matte, or simply hanging a new Monet print. Even for those with “wild” imagination who insist on asserting their difference, Awakuni and Kudeken claim they can custom frame ANYTHING!

There is nothing too small or too unusual that they would be unable to figure out a way to frame. On a regular basis, they have framed paintings, prints, mirrors, pins, patches, hats, and even beach sand. They will also frame unique requests, like special occasion wineglasses, dolls, and swords. Framing Okinawan art, such bingata place mats, pottery, or shisa lions would be a great souvenir to remind you of your stay in Okinawa. Custom framing at Artsy Wall normally takes only 3-4 days, but special orders may require up to a week to complete. Awakuni, who speaks Japanese and English, says that they sell only the best quality frames and mattes - and at a reasonable prices too. Artsy Wall does not use plywood or cardboard in their framing process. Kudeken affirms that only acid-free backing is used, hence protecting the pictures from turning yellow. Artsy Wall specializes in custom framing and has over 60 different frames and over 50 styles of mattes from which to choose. They can also "design cut" the mattes with hearts, stars, Aztec and geometric designs. For those who have traveled abroad and have purchased oil paintings from places like Taiwan and Korea, Artsy Wall will stretch those pieces for you and frame them too. Currently, the art shop sells posters of African art, European art, and framed Ryukyu prints. Awakuni says they are planning on expanding their print supply soon. Artsy Wall is open from 11-7 P.M. daily. It is closed on Thursdays and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. If you have any questions, please call 098-898-1925.

Directions: Head south on Hwy. 58. Across the street from Nisseki Gas Station just before the turn off for Futenma Air Base, you’ll see Artsy Wall located on the right hand side.
