Teacher threatened by knife-wielding student

Date Posted: 2002-02-07

Urasoe police on Jan. 28 arrested a 15-year-old male student on charges of breaking the Gun and Knife Control Law. The student allegedly threatened his junior high school teacher with a knife. According to the police investigation, the student reportedly brought a kitchen knife to school and intimidated a 36-year-old male teacher in the hallway, saying, "I知 going to stab you." The student is reported to have said that he was unhappy about being punished and did not have any intention of actually inflicting injury. The student has been under supervision since being arrested last September in a glue-sniffing case.
