For those who like to venture out to try something new and different in terms of dining facilities, Hiramatsu Kappou Izakaiya is one place that should be on their for the next dine-out experience. With over 24 years of cooking experience as a chef, Master Chousei Kiyuna offers various daily “kaiseki” (dinner courses), including: Sashimi (raw fish), Kakiage (mixed tempura), Yakimono (grilled food), Mushimono (steamed vegetables), and Agemono (boiled dish).

The restaurant’s course prices range from ¥3.500, and the Chef’s Special Course, for ¥7.000, provides an ample amount to split among 2-3 people. Hiramatsu serves only the freshest seafood from Okinawa and mainland Japan, and takes great pride in the physical presentation of the meals.

Kiyuna recommends that those who prefer a specific Sushi roll combination, should inform the chefs in due time of what they want, and they will custom prepare the dish according to the client’s tastes. One may also order a la carte for the lighter selections.

Their original dishes, which include delicious avocado tempura, soba zushi (soba noodle sushi), and kaisen (seafood salad), are simply divine. The single dish menu starts from about ¥500.

Hiramatsu is open 7 days a week from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Menus are in Japanese only. To make reservations, call 933- 3853. Walk-ins also welcome. Only yen is accepted.
