Uruma City man charged with prostituting teen girls

Date Posted: 2012-08-31

Ishikawa Police have arrested a 42-year-old self-employed Uruma City man and charged him of violations for prostituting two junior high school girls.

Kenichi Morine has confessed to charges he violated the Child Welfare Law and Anti-Prostitution Law, pimping the 14 and 15-year-old junior high school students to have sex with other men. Morine acknowledges he knew the girls were under 18.

Investigators say Morine conspired with an accomplice, knowing the girls were underage and were runaways. He handled introductions to men through an online dating site, making the girls go to hotels with their customers in June. Ishikawa Police say Morine made the girls charge ¥10,000 to each customer at hotels in Okinawa and Uruma Cities.

Ishikawa Police had received a missing persons report from the girls’ family and began an investigation, which led to Morine and his activities. Police say they’re now investigating the case in more detail.
