Typhoon Bolaven forces cancellation, postponement of weekend events

Approaching typhoon Bolaven, which is packing winds up to 150 miles per hour, is forcing organizers of weekend pubic events to scramble to either cancel or postpone their festivals. Here’s what has been decided as of Saturday afternoon.

Kunigami Festival that was planned to take place Sat. & Sun. is now re-scheduled to the weekend of Oct. 13 & 14.

Organizers of Yomitan Youth Eisa that was supposed to take place on Sunday has been cancelled. Organizers say that they will decide by Monday whether to re-schedule the event or cancel it altogether.

Sunday’s Kin Eisa Festival has been cancelled and organizers are weighing whether to schedule a later date.

Ryukyu Mura Eisa Festival’s fate is also pending.

Tenkaichi Super Fight is re-scheduled for Sunday, Sep. 2. Organizers stress that tickets bought to this Sunday’s event will be valid on the new date.
