Live fire exercise causes fire near Hansen rangeDate Posted: 2012-08-17 The Okinawa Prefecture Base Countermeasure Division says it received a report from the Okinawa Defense Bureau that the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. They report a helicopter doused the flames, extinguishing it by 5:50 p.m. Authorities note that it was the second fire within the week. A small forest fire was started by exercise firing on August 8th at Camp Hansen. Officials say it was quickly extinguished, too. |
