Resort offers helicopter pleasure trips

A northern Okinawa resort is offering helicopter pleasure flights this month, billing the travel as “a splendid 20 minutes with not only arriving faster to the resort, but also enjoying an enchanting view from the sky.”

Kanucha Bay Resort, located across the bay from Camp Schwab in Nago City, is offering the Kanucha Air Trip Story Yanbaru Air Pleasure Trip on odd days through this month. The Air Shuttle Plan includes sightseeing starting from Naha Airport to the Kanucha Resort in the Abu District. The adventure costs ¥20,000 with a maximum of five persons on board. By comparison, the Kanucha Bay Resort Company points out that a taxi trip from the airport to Kanucha Resort costs about ¥16,000.

The resort is also offering helicopter sightseeing rides from Kanucha Resort for ¥15,000 per person. Flights accommodate up to five people. The charge for three persons on a trip is ¥16,000 each. Flights offer a panoramic view of nature in northern Okinawa, Camp Schwab and the solar power generation facility, Mega Solar, in Nago City’s Abu district.
