Japan to hold Osprey Symposium Aug. 29thDate Posted: 2012-08-10 The symposium will bring together experts, including Noboru Yamaguchi, professor at the National Defense Academy of Japan, as well as U.S. officials. The symposium is designed to discuss the significance of the deployment of the U.S. Marine Corps' MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft. Morimoto says explanations by the Japanese government alone are not enough and those by experts can provide objective views. Okinawa citizens are strongly opposed to the Osprey deployment as a pair of crashes involving the aircraft this year heightened safety concerns. |
