Okinawa Drive Label starts own festivalDate Posted: 2012-07-20  The free music festival sponsored by Okinawa Drive Label will be held at Araha beach in Chatan town on Saturday, with the music kicking off at 3 p.m. and running to 7:30 p.m. Fittingly, organizers say, the music plays under the banner Okinawa Drive Label Festival. The application has won the Gold Prize award of the Toyota social application contest. The application is meant to be used when driving around Okinawa, and features a Google-based map of Okinawa with marks on selected sightseeing and tourist destination spots. When the user pushes the spot on the map, an appropriate Okinawan song, which is somehow related to the spot, plays in your phone while pictures also show on your mobile phone for free. The most special feature in this application is that each song already mapped on the Google map means the application recommends you listen to each music at each point. As you check the points on the Google map and go, listen to the songs that the application recommended. For example, the famous song “Warabi-gami” is mapped at the Peace Memorial Park on the application, so when you drove to the Peace Memorial Park, simply click the icon, and the application streams “warabigami”. The application recommend s you not just check spot songs, but also mark some of the playlist, so you can enjoy driving in Okinawa by clicking playlist button for music. The application appears not only inside the mobile phone, but also to the real world. Some of the singers who perform songs in the application entertain you on the stage free of charge at Araha Beach on July 22nd. The performers include ma-yun, GARIB, Mari Miyagi, Karabisa, Ryuty, The Firefly Clan, Carlos J. Saldana, and Mina Kuniyoshi. |
