Shriners seek golfers for charity tournament

The Prince Hall Shriners’ Obelisk Temple is canvassing Okinawa for golfers wanting to participate in the 2012 Obelisk Temple 1st Annual National Diabetes Initiative Golf Tournament at Banyan Tree Golf Course on Kadena AB.

The four-person scramble is Friday, July 20th, with a 5:45 a.m. ~ 6:45 a.m. check-in for a 7 a.m. shotgun start. Participation is limited to the first 36 teams to register and show up, and a continental breakfast will be served to participants on site before the tournament start.

Registration is $40 for E-1 ~ E4, $45 for E5 ~ E9, MLC/IHA/LN ¥8,000, and Officers/Civilians/Retirees/DoD $50. The registration includes green fees, cart rental and tournament fees. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the National Diabetes Initiative, a 10-year $1 million fund raising initiative for the Prince Hall Shriners Foundation (PHSF) to raise funds for minority research for the ADA.
