Okinawa registers record high temperatureDate Posted: 2012-07-13 Minami Daito Village took the highest record with a 33.3C reading just before 1 p.m., while Naha City thermometers pegged at 33.1C at 2:19 P.M. The temperatures were hot enough that four people were taken to local hospitals because of heatstroke. A woman in her 30’s complained of nausea and feeling ill about 3 p.m. while working in a vinyl hothouse in the Wauke district of Nakagusuku. She was taken to a hospital. The Okinawa Meteorological Observatory is advising people to pay attention to heatstroke dangers. |
