And this week's winner is...Date Posted: 2012-07-07  Amanda has lived on Okinawa almost a year, and says that the weather here is almost like back home, hot and humid but, “We don’t have beaches,” she adds. She also tells that her hometown Tucker is “typified by Southern hospitality.” She says that she has just over one year to go before she is scheduled to move to another location. “My stay on the island has been wonderful. I love my church family here at Okinawa Covenant Church, and have really enjoyed seeing God’s incredible hand in making Okinawa,” she says. She also says that her favorite food is “Sushi, of course.” She enjoys other aspects of the island life, too. “I’ve just started snorkeling, and I have discovered that the life under the surface of the ocean is just incredible,” she exhorts. Another thing she would like to do before moving on, is to go hiking in the northern parts of the island, see the waterfalls and other nature there.
