JAL to launch 1st class service on Okinawa-Haneda domestic flights

Date Posted: 2012-07-07

The ride between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Naha gets a lot smoother starting August 1st, when Japan Airlines introduces its domestic first class service.

The Okinawa-Haneda route will join JAL’s Haneda-Sapporo, Fukuoka and Osaka flights featuring first class domestic service.

In addition to adding the service on the Okinawa segments, JAL plans to add more flights with first class seating on the Haneda Sapporo route.

Domestic First Class Customers will check in at special, exclusive counters, enjoy priority boarding and baggage handling, and have access to the airline’s Diamond Premier Lounge. Onboard, first class customers are served a wide range of quality foods, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks as they enjoy comfort of a 53cm wide sofa-style seat upholstered in leather. JAL First class seats are arranged in seven pairs at the front of the aircraft, with each seat reclining to a maximum of 132º.

Passengers who’ve purchased a domestic fare ticket can upgrade from economy class to first class by paying only ¥8,000 for each segment of the journey, subject to seat availability.
