Mercure Okinawa Naha Accor's first islands hotelDate Posted: 2012-06-29 ![]() ![]() ![]() The upscale business hotel’s cornerstone is its Bistro De La Mer, an all-day dining venue built around French-inspired dishes. Mercure Okinawa Naha is part of Accor, which is expanding to offer services to the southern prefecture. “We are excited,” says Patrick Bassett, Vice President for Accor Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea and Japan, pointing out “all of the hotels within the Mercure network bring together the best of French and Japanese hospitality, which combined delivers a distinctive and unique guest experience. French cuisine’s at the heart of the Bistro De Le Mer, which takes its name from ‘the sea’ or ‘la mer’ in French. The Mercure runs daily morning buffets 6:30 a.m. ~ 10 a.m. and midday buffets 11:30 a.m. ~ 2:30 p.m. for ¥1,500 each. In the evenings La Mer serves a course menu and a la carte orders from 5 ~ 10 p.m., with last order at 9:30 p.m., starting from ¥3,500. The bar time is from 9:30 p.m. to midnight with last order at 11:30 p.m. There’s also an afternoon tea time from 2:30 to 5 p.m. featuring delicious homemade pastries. Cakes for birthdays and other special events are available by advance reservation. The Bistro de La Mer operates a full service kitchen, including ala carte menus, in addition to the buffets, with the accent on French dishes. Pastries, the hotel points out, are the absolute ultimate taste set forth by Bistro de La Mer. The restaurant seats 120, with another six at the counter and two on a sofa. The Bistro de La Mer transitions to a bar in the evening, remaining open until 12:30 a.m. Mercure Okinawa Naha is offering special introductory rates through June 30th. The basic room rate’s ¥15,400 for a twin room for two persons, including breakfast, but the special sets aside a 30% discount from the day’s best rate. Bookings are available through www.Accorhotels.co.jp. The hotel’s located directly in front of Tsubogawa MonoRail Station, overlooking Onoyama Park and the Kokuba River. It’s only ten minutes by monorail or car from Naha International Airport, and about the same amount of time from the souvenir shops, department stores and entertainment on Naha’s Kokusai Street. |
