Gospel Explosion 2012 musical set for Koza Sunday

A Gospel Explosion 2012 musical Sunday evening caps a three-day series of gospel workshops and concert sponsored by Koza Baptist Chruch.

Spirit Filled Ministries is sponsoring the Friday ~ Sunday events, with workshops at the Koza Baptist Church Friday evening 7 p.m. ~ 9 p.m, and Saturday 1 p.m. ~ 3 p.m. The Gospel Explosion Concert takes place at Koza Music Town Hall at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Kaz Kato, a musical producer and keyboardist who’s been playing since a youngster, and has performed with singer Dottie Peoples on her U.S. tour, and also for President Bill Clinton, is producing the event, while Noriko Kato is a director, along with Wesley Barnes. Vocalists include Tessa Beaman and Raquel Sargent, along with the Okinawa Gospel Choir.

Advance Tickets for the concert are ¥1,500, or ¥2,000 at the door. Children 7 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at the Music Town Box Office. Proceeds of the concert go to support earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in mainland Japan.

Koza Baptist Church is located at 686 Noborikawa in Okinawa City. Exit the Okinawa Expressway at Exit 5, then continue straight across the intersection to the first traffic light, and turn right. Koza Baptist Church is approximately 300 meters further down, on the left hand side.
