AirAsia Japan ready for Okinawa flightsDate Posted: 2012-06-08 ![]() The budget carrier based at Narita will be initiating 84 weekly domestic flights to Okinawa, Sapporo, and Fukuoka. AirAsia Japan CEO Kazuyuki Iwakata says “AirAsia Japan’s objective is to develop the low-cost carrier market in Japan, generating new demand with the aim of making affordable and quality travel available to all.” Iwakata says although the airline has only been in business less than a year, “we’re pleased to launch three domestic destinations.” To kick off promotion for the new routes, AirAsia Japan offered 10,000 seats from ¥5. The entire block of seats was sold out in less than a day. Iwakata says he expects the new domestic routes to “help meet demand from business and leisure travelers between Sapporo, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Tokyo.” |
