Red Lobster newest Mihama restaurantDate Posted: 2012-06-01   The latest Red Lobster to open in Japan—Okinawa’s second and the 23rd owned by Celux Management Inc., in Japan—is in the building behind the 7-Plex Theater Complex in Mihama. The restaurant is opening nine months after Celux debuted its Red Lobster at Cargoes, a commercial facility on Kokusai Street in downtown Naha City. Red Lobster’s taken the plunge with a first-time “Bar Harbor Style” décor, an innovation that replaces the longtime Red Lobster interior built like a fisherman’s cottage, called a ‘Wharf wide style’ of America’s east coast. The new concept puts customers into a small seaside restaurant at a resort, called Bar Harbor in Maine. Celux officials say the new restaurant is opening in Chatan because of popular demand by customers who’ve patronized the downtown Naha location. Okinawa’s large number of foreign customers—many U.S. military, civilians and family members—has given Celux a belief Red Lobster should be born again, going after the foreign clientele.
