Paper-cutting artisan will debut works at Ashibinaa

A Kirigami Art Exhibition and workshop featuring a renowned Japanese photographer opens June 1st at Okinawa Outlet Mall Ashibinaa in Tomigusuku.

The exhibition, Mitsuhiko Imamori Art of Scissors: the Art of Paper-cutting Exhibition, will be open daily 10 a.m. ~ 6 p.m. Photographer Imamori, who’s received a number of prizes for his photographic works, including the Ihee Kimura Photo Prize and the Ken Domon prize, will present the personal side of his paper-cutting artwork.

Imamori will be conducting workshops during the exhibition, which runs to July 1st. Advance tickets are ¥500 for adults high school age and older, and ¥200 for kids 6~15. Children under six enter the exhibition free. The Ryukyu Shimpo Company is sponsoring the exhibition. Tickets at the door will be ¥600 for adults and ¥300 for students 6~15.
