Vandal sprays cars with paint

Police are investigating a rash of vandalism incidents in the Miyagi residential district of Chatan Town, where at least eight cars were damaged by paint sprayed on them.

A caller dialing the police emergency number to report “paints are being sprayed on cars” May 12th started cops rolling into gear. Okinawa Police investigators found eight cars damaged in the immediate area, with patterns suggesting the work was done by the same culprit.

The cars had been parked on a road near the seashore, adjacent to the residential area. Red paint was sprayed on the hoods and front windshields, with police saying they suspect the vandalism was accomplished between 9 p.m. May 11th and 7:45 a.m. on the 12th. On one car, the windshield was plastered with a paint message saying “we sell drugs” in Japanese.
