Jamaicans headline Blazing Roots & Culture Far East Tour

Advance tickets are now on sale for the Blazing Roots & Culture Far East Tour coming to Club @ [Ando] on June 1st.

Jamaican musicians Warrior King and Everton Blender take center stage for the 9:30 p.m. event, joined by music spinners Dilly Da Don, Night Walker and ‘Sweet Basc’ Nice-Time Crew. Advance tickets are ¥3,000, and will be ¥4,000 at the door. Tickets are available at Ando (098) 936-6939, Afro Jamaica, Wing King and Bar Soul Power, or by calling Chef Dave at 090-6866-8442, or Jam-One Entertainment at 090-8517-09560.

Blender, born Everton Dennis Williams in Kingston, Jamaica, began his musical career with an amateur talent contest, then propelled himself to stardom in the late 1970’s with his hit ‘Where is Love?’ and followed up in 1985 with ‘Ba Ba Black Sheep.’ A songwriter as well, he’s dedicated himself to ‘cultural’ reggae since the ‘90’s.

The 32-year-old Rasta messenger Warrior King, is also from Kingston. His 2001 debut single ‘Virtuous Woman’ launched his reggae career.

Roots Rock & Reggae’s coming to Ando on May 18th, hosted by Dilly Da Don. Tickets are ¥1,000, but entry will be free to those purchasing tickets to the Blazing Root & Culture event.

Ando’s also looking ahead to June 29th and a Reggae Gold Dancehall Madness event. Advance tickets for Dancehall Madness are ¥2,500 or $30.
