Attacker beats store clerk with hammerDate Posted: 2012-05-12 The male drugstore clerk was beaten during the late morning attack in the Noborikawa district of Okinawa City. Police say the attacker charged the clerk and began striking him on the head, causing injuries. Hospital authorities say the man suffered lacerations, but injuries are not life threatening. The unemployed man admits to the charge, but has not been able to tell the motive for the attack, except that he seems to be prone to dark speech and behavior. According to Okinawa police, the unemployed man entered into the drug store at 11:30 a.m. on May 3rd with a hammer in his hand, and hit the victim on the head when he tried to prevent the man entering the store several times carrying the hammer. Other staff who noticed the attack came to the help of the clerk and called the police. |
