Hotel worker busted for repeat drunk driving

Date Posted: 2012-05-04

Golden Week did not begin well for a hotel staff member, as he was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Sunday and charged with drunk driving, a violation of the Road Traffic Law.

Police say that a patrol stopped 28-year-old Shogo Nakayama in Okinawa City’s Ozato district after an eyewitness reported he had felt strange after noticing the erratic driving of Nakayama, who was driving behind him, took a note of his register plate and called the police. After they stopped Nakayama, the police found out that not only was he seemingly drunk, but he was also driving without a license. Nakayama had lost his license because of a drunk driving offense last month.

Nakayama’s car was broken on the front left, and he said that he had crashed into a barrier earlier.
