Date Posted: 2012-04-06

An exhibition devoted to the Nakamura House in Okinawa, which was designated by the Japanese government as an important cultural heritage, is in its final days at the Okinawa Prefectural Museumís first floor exhibition room.

The Kihachiro Tsuru Exhibition runs through Sunday at the museum, located in Omoromachi, across from San-A Naha Main Place. Tsuru is a painter who visited the Nakamura house hundreds of times during the 2007-2009 period to observe the homeís beauty from different angles, in mornings and evenings, and during different seasons.

Nakamura House was a rich farmerís residence about three centuries ago, and painter Kihachiro Tsuru has captured the beauty of the stately house in great detail. He has 30 paintings and drawings in pastel and oils on display at the exhibition.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge, with entry daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
