Urasoe Art Museum stages Mika Ninagawa Exhibition

Artist Mika Ninagawa, a favorite with famous Japanese actors and actresses, as well as the nation’s younger generation, is showing her works at an exhibition at the Urasoe Art Museum.

The 40-year-old photographer, motion picture and television drama director and advertising designer, has had her works featured in Elle Japon, Figaro, ViVi, Glamorous, and JJ, and has produced promotional videos for top musicians in Japan. She’s also a television commercials producer, with popular works including ‘Glaceau Vitaminwater’ for Coca Cola Japan, SS drug company, AEON Group and Nissan. Her works are on display around the globe, including in Taiwan, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and France.

The Mika Ninagawa Art Exhibition runs through April 8th at the Urasoe Art Museum. It’s the first time she’s staged an exhibition in Okinawa, and is featuring 100 different works. The exhibition is open daily 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., with last entry at 4:30 p.m. The exhibit stays open until 7 p.m. on Fridays, and is closed on Mondays.

Admission is ¥1,000 for adults and ¥800 for elementary and junior high school students. Kids under 6 enter free. Tickets are available at Ryubo Department Store, Okinawa Mitsukoshi, Coop Okinawa, Eplus at Family Mart, Lawson and Ticket Pia.
