U.S. Marines meet, brief Japan Prime MinisterDate Posted: 2012-03-02 ![]() The purpose of Yoshihiko Noda’s visit was to meet with the Okinawa Area Coordinator and the Commanding General of Marine Corps Installations Pacific, and to receive a briefing about MCAS Futenma and tour Camp Kinser. Noda made an office call to Lt. Gen. Kenneth J. Glueck Jr., Okinawa Area Coordinator and commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force and Maj. Gen. Peter J. Talleri, commanding general of Marine Corps Installations Pacific, at the Base Operations Center, adjacent to the Air Traffic Control Tower on MCAS Futenma. The meeting was also attended by Ray Greene, Consul General, U.S. Consulate General, Naha. Following the meeting, Noda toured the Air Traffic Control Tower and received a command brief about air operations from Col. James G. Flynn, MCAS Futenma commanding officer. Noda was greeted at Camp Kinser by Col. Scott E. Erdelatz, 3rd Marine Logistics Group chief of staff. The Prime Minister received a briefing on Naha Military Port and the west coast development projects by the Okinawa Defense Bureau. |
