Date Posted: 2012-03-02

International travelers will soon find it easier to make connections between Japan and Okinawa and the rest of the world, as Japan Airlines teams up with JetBlue Airways.

The American air carrier has linked with JAL through both New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, giving travelers an easy connection upon arrival stateside, or getting from a variety of destinations in the U.S. through JAL’s Narita and Haneda gateways in Tokyo. JAL offers daily nonstop service from both New York and Los Angeles, providing onward connections to major Asian cities, including Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai and Taipei.

Aside from the launch at JFK and LAX gateways, JetBlue and JAL will also promote Chicago O’Hare to Narita and San Francisco to Haneda as departure locations. JetBlue, for its part, will promote ease of traveling the U.S. east coast with its numerous connections in Buffalo, Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and cities throughout Florida. On the west coast, JetBlue offers service to Boston, New York and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

JetBlue offers 100 daily flights to 44 cities across the U.S. and Caribbean. JAL is introducing nonstop service between Tokyo and JetBlue’s Boston hub city this spring, marking JAL’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner Debut. The new Boston service will be the only nonstop connection from Asia to New England.
