Toyota displays everything at its Okinawa Motor ShowDate Posted: 2012-03-02   The All Toyota Motor show in Okinawa will be held at Okinawa Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, putting visitors in touch with Toyota’s history. The exhibition is open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free. One of the main attractions will be the all new sporty Toyota 86. An original Toyota 86 that debuted in 1983 is also on display. There will be a Prius plug-in hybrid, FT-EVIII, and Prius S “Touring Selection G”, and if you decide to contract to buy a new car during the show, you can get up to ¥130,000 in free options, for example ¥50,000 worth of optional parts, another ¥50,000 for a new navigation system and accessories, and ¥30,000 cash support for trading in your old car. Just looking and visiting the exhibition makes for an interesting day, as there is a used car festival, and a solar car exhibition displaying a vehicle that was built by Nanbu engineering high school students that won 13th place in the world solar challenge 2011 held in Australia. Famous first class universities throughout the world took part in that competition including teams from Cambridge, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and first class private engineering companies. The 13th place finish came against 37 teams from 20 countries. Also there will also be some fun for kids, too. The theme is “Kids, become an engineer”, and children can wear overalls and experience trial engineer work, and receive a certificate of completion and a Toyota pullback mini car. There’s a limit on number pf participants on that deal, so show organizers encourage visitors to come early. |
