Evita Thai Massage Celebrates 11th Anniversary

Date Posted: 2012-02-17

There’s massage, there’s Thai massage, and there’s Thai massage Evita style, which combines the scientific art of massage with a touch of Okinawan style.

Okinawa Evita Massage is special, where every massage incorporates a blend of digital compression, stretches and lymph massage that enhances metabolism. Evita’s been around for a long time, and is loved by countless loyal customers who’re now joining in the shop’s 11th anniversary celebration. Massage is done by hand – or foot, as the case maybe – insuring the masseuse of being able to identify those tough knots of tense muscle that need a bit of extra work.

An Evita massage is the ultimate massage, says owner Annie Ayako Bastidas, who uses a handmade herb tool for facial, foot, back, shoulder and neck massages.

Herbs are homegrown in the Evita Massage fields in Uruma City, dried, then dampened and steamed when ready for the massage. Thai massages use no oil, but Annie and Evita Massage do, contending the organic oil enhances the massage technique.

Annie first learned of massage in Thailand, Britain and Tokyo, dabbling in the art as a hobby at first, but then focusing on it as a business. “With a rapidly growing clientele, all through word-of-mouth,” she moved the busy business beyond massages and into training others in the art.

Evita Massage is celebrating its 11th anniversary with a special deal;
A 60-minute treatment is $45 instead of $55, 90-minute is $65 instead of $75 and 120-minute is $95 instead of $105 on weekends for couples who say “I saw Japan Update.” On weekdays, take the same treatment as on a week weekend at the same price for even one person, but you need to say “I saw Japan Update”, to get the discount for all 90 and 120-minute courses.

Evita operates daily, noon to 7 p.m., and both Japanese yen and U.S. dollars are accepted. Appointments are available at 090-5381-3939. Evita Massage is located on Chuo Park Avenue in Okinawa City, on the second floor of the building next to Paddy Mac’s.
