Aloha, Hawaiian charm radiate at Tony's Honolulu HambyDate Posted: 2012-02-10 ![]() ![]() ![]() Tony’s Honolulu Hamby is a Hawaiian restaurant in Hamby, Chatan Town, a place where real Hawaiian dishes prevail, and tasty cocktails beckon while beautiful ocean view is fully absorbed. It all began with a man named Tony, who went to Hawaii on a home stay, and then fell in love with the food, and how to cook it. That led him to open a Hawaiian restaurant in Shizuoka Prefecture 25 years ago. Now the clock moves forward to a chance meeting by Tatsumasa Moriya, who met Tony and began learning how to cook Hawaiian foods. That was eight years ago, and now Moriya has experience of cooking many places. Finally Moriya opened Tony’s Honolulu Hamby three years ago. A lot of Hawaiian people visit, and Moriya says they treat the restaurant as their home. Moriya’s dishes charm a lot of people, even Hawaiian, and make repeaters of them. Tony’s Honolulu Hamby has lunch time, dinner time and bar time. Of course, at dinner time, you can eat real tasty Hawaiian dishes, while at lunch time there are soup, salad, and drink (coffee or tea) to all menus. You can eat set menu for same price of night menu. The last order for food is 10:30 p.m.. After that, you can drink cocktails until 23:30 as bar time. And plenty of cocktails they serve. There are frozen, sweet and strong ones. Hawaiian ambience is added with straw roof in interior, Hawaiian music in the background, and generally really laid-back style throughout! When needed, Tony’s can present a party plan with main dishes on party platters. Party plans must be reserved in advance, and groups from four people up to 25 are considered parties, and are available even at lunch time. Another attraction is seating outside on the terrace. Moriya recommends the terrace seats for summer time because the restaurant has a really fantastic ocean view, so you can eat and drink while enjoying the view, and feeling the voice of waves. One other thing; pets are welcome at the terrace. Everything on the menu is available for take out. If you call them before you go and order from the menu, they will cook just before arrival to keep it hot. Lunch time is 11:30 a.m. ~ 2:30 p.m. (last order); while dinner time is 5:30 p.m. ~ 10:30 (last order); Tony closes at midnight, BUT. If nobody is in the restaurant at 10:30, consider the place closed. Through April 30th, Tony’s Honolulu Hamby will be closed every Tuesday. Credit cards are accepted, or you can pay by dollars or yen. Tony’s Honolulu is located near Araha Beach in Hamby facing the ocean. Limited free parking is available in front of the restaurant. |
