Urasoe sets two-day Tedako WalkDate Posted: 2012-02-03  The 11th Urasoe Two-Day Tedako Walk kicks off at 7 a.m. Saturday with opening ceremonies for the Nakagami Highway Ocean View and World Treasure Castles marathon course. Registration for the event is 6:30 a.m. and the race starts at 7:15 a.m. Start point for the 42.195km race is the Urasoe Athletic Park, and the finish line is the Urasoe Municipal Gym. Events run both Saturday and Sunday. A 20km race through the Kakazu Hills and Oyama Potato Fields Country Landscape Course has registration at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, while the Urasoe Castle Ruins and Kakazu Hills Course 10km walk begins registration at 8:30 a.m. Five kilometer walks through the Urasoe Castle Ruins Horuto Evergreen Tree Family Course begin with registration at 9:30 a.m., and the 3km Sports, Culture and More Healthy Spolts in Urasoe Course gets under ay at 10:45 a.m. On Sunday, a 30km course through The Old Highway through Shuri and the Ancient Capital Urasoe Course and the 20km Camp Kinser Course both begin registration at 6:30 a.m. The 10km Old Urasoe Backroads course registers at 7:30am, while the 5km Road of People course hs registration at 8:30 a.m. A 9:30 a.m. registration is set for the 3km Sports, Culture and More Healthy Spots in Urasoe Course. Registration fees for adults are ¥1,000 for one day or 1,000 for one day or ¥1,500 for both days. Students in grades 1~12 pay ¥100 for the two days. Prizes will be awarded to the first 3,000 adults who sign up. On site registration is permitted, and advance registration can be accomplished today and tomorrow at the Urasoe City Hall’s 7th floor Physical Education Section from 8:30 a.m. ~ 5:15 pm. |
