JHS students arrested for breaking into restaurant

Three junior high school students have been apprehended by police after they broke into a Naha City restaurant and stole both cash and a telephone.

Police say the three were arrested and charged with breaking into a building, and with theft, while another two students have been accused of complicity and will also be dealt with by the Public Prosecutorís Office. All five students have admitted they broke into the restaurant in Naha Cityís Gushi district between 10:30 p.m. last September 19th and 7:30 a.m. September 20th, and stole •3,000 plus a public telephone.

The Tomigusuku Police investigators say the boys broke in through the restaurantís door after it was closed, using a crowbar. Two students stood watch while the other three searched the restaurant and came up with the phone and cash.
