Hanarabi Orthodontics introduces 'backside' bracesDate Posted: 2012-01-05  No more, as Hanarabi Orthodontics Clinic in Okinawa City has the modern technological solution. Hanarabi has introduced the ‘back side’ straightening braces, the newest method of creating the even smile. The process involves applying the dentures, an orthodontic appliance, to the back side of the teeth where they’re far less visible. The Hanarabi Clinic owned by Yoshiya Kakazu’s only been open 11 months, but it’s been a rewarding time of transforming shy smiles into much desired even smiles. Mie Miyagi, director of the Okinawa City clinic, says the therapy is particularly appealing to people who want to have orthodontic correction therapy, but are embarrassed if the orthodontic appliance is visible because of their jobs in a service industry or who perform work requiring them to appear in public. Miyagi says the clinic has been effective in involving the American community with dental cleaning campaigns, a specialty. Hanarabi also has clinics in Urasoe and Uruma Cities, and Miyagi says the clinics offer orthodontic treatments, periodontal disease prevention and full dental cleanings but not traditional dental services such as fillings. Hanarabi Clinic Okinawa City is open Mondays and Tuesdays, and Thursdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. ~ 6 p.m. The clinic’s located on Moromi Street next to Family Mart, near Plaza House.
